Importance of Value Education should be treated as paramount in every institution of knowledge as it helps to solve a lot of problems in the education system

Education value is the process by which people give moral values to each other. According to Powney et al. It can be an activity that can take place in any human organisation. during which people are assisted by others, who may be older, in a condition experienced to make explicit our ethics in order to assess the effectiveness of these values and associated behaviour for their own and others’ long term well-being, and to reflect on and acquire other values and behaviour which they recognise as being more effective for long term well-being of self and others. There is a difference between literacy and education
There has been very little reliable research on the results of value education classes, but there are some encouraging preliminary results

One definition refers to it as the process that gives young people an initiation into values, giving knowledge of the rules needed to function in this mode of relating to other people and to seek the development in the student a grasp of certain underlying principles, together with the ability to apply these rules intelligently, and to have the settled disposition to do so Some researchers use the concept values education as an umbrella of concepts that includes moral education and citizenship education. Themes that values education can address to varying degrees are character, moral development, Religious Education, Spiritual development, citizenship education, personal development, social development and cultural development.

1. It helps the students to be self aware:
Value education exposes students to some basic human values such as kindness. This allows them to be able to differentiate between right or wrong and also become self aware of their actions and inactions such that they can reflect and work on how to be the best of themselves. This also extends to picking up new good values and principles and getting rid of the bad ones.

2. It improves the quests for knowledge:
Introducing value education to a school syllabus from the beginning of the school year makes it easier for both the teachers and students to learn it’s benefits and how it can useful to them not only with their school work but in other aspects of their lives. This helps to keep them motivated and interested in their quest for more beneficial knowledge

3. It helps to promote good manners:
One of the most common ways to inculcate good moral values and principles is through leading by example that is why teachers are usually encouraged to not only teach value education but also practice what they teach this will allow the students to pick up good manners directly from their teachers and emulate them.
